DREDGING METHOD AND APPARATUS

Abstract

The invention relates to a dredging method comprising the suspension of a dredging apparatus (200) from a vehicle (360). The sediment stirring apparatus includes a frame (210), and an extractor, a sediment stirring apparatus, and respective pumps (220, 230) are mounted on the frame. The dredging apparatus (200) is positioned above, but not in contact with, a bed (340) whose sediments (350) are to be dredged. The sediments (350) are agitated and then extracted with the extractor. The dredging apparatus (200) is moved in the water, and the extracted sediments (400) are deposited underwater and above the dredging apparatus (200), so that the sediments (400) are transported and deposited at a distance from an area dredged by the natural movement of the water. The invention also relates to a device and the use of the device.
