SUCTION JACKET AND CENTRIFUGAL PUMP INCLUDING THE LATTER

Abstract

The invention relates to a suction sleeve (8) for a centrifugal pump (1) for sludge treatment, the centrifugal pump comprising an impeller (3) received in a housing (2), the suction sleeve (8) comprising a cylindrical part (10) which can be arranged in the housing (2) of the centrifugal pump (1), and a flanged part (11) which projects outwards in a radial direction from the cylindrical part (10). The flange portion (11) can be arranged so that, when mounted in a centrifugal pump (1), at least a portion of a front end surface (12) of the flange portion (11) of the suction jacket (8) abuts against at least a portion of a front end (14) of the impeller (3), so as to seal an axial gap between the suction jacket (8) and the impeller (3), and at least the front end surface (12) of the flange portion (11) is composed of a low-friction polymer.The invention further relates to a centrifugal pump (1) for sludge treatment, the centrifugal pump comprising such a suction jacket (8). The suction jacket (8) and the centrifugal pump (1) prevent the recirculation of pumping fluid within a centrifugal pump and, consequently, reduce wear.
