Abstract
The present invention describes a process for the synthesis of rac-1,2-O-dipalmitoyl-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine, characterized by the following steps: synthesis of rac-4-((benzyloxy)methyl)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane, synthesis of rac-3-(benzyloxy)propane-1,2-diol, synthesis of rac-1,2-O-dipalmitoyl-3-O-benzyl-glycerol, synthesis of rac-1,2-O-dipalmitoyl-glycerol, synthesis of rac-3-((2-oxido-1,3,2-oxazaphospholidin-2-yl)oxy)propan-1,2-diyl dipalmitate, and synthesis of rac-1,2-O-dipalmitoyl-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine.
