Abstract
A method and system for drying an active part of an electrical transformer, focusing on a "last-to-dry zone" between the high- and low-voltage windings. The method combines hot-air and vacuum drying, using specific mathematical models to determine the moisture content in this critical zone. The method employs sensors to continuously monitor peak zone temperature, relative humidity of the hot air and outside the drying oven, and pressure during the vacuum drying phase at different stages of the process. An electronic processor applies heat transfer, moisture desorption and adsorption, and cooling models to calculate and control the drying. The process includes hot-air drying phases, controlled environmental exposure for re-tightening, and a vacuum drying phase, ending when the required moisture content is reached in the last-to-dry zone.
