Abstract
The present invention relates to an absorption composition characterized in that it comprises 5% to 50% sodium carboxymethylcellulose; 0.01% to 5% D-sorbitol; 0.05% to 5% citric acid and 50% to 95% water; it also relates to a process for obtaining a composition with efficient liquid absorption capacity for various applications characterized in that it comprises: a) Mixing 0.05% to 5% w / w citric acid and 0.a) 0.1% to 5% w / w of D-sorbitol; b) partially prepolymerize the mixture from part (a) at a temperature between 80°C and 180°C for 30 minutes to 12 hours until a fully water-soluble, crosslinking branched prepolymer is formed; c) completely dissolve the crosslinking prepolymer in water in a proportion of between 50% and 95% w / v; d) add between 5% and 50% w / w of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose until solubilized and a gel is formed with a moisture content between 30-95%; e) section and dehydrate the gel at temperatures between 40°C and 90°C for 1 to 24 hours, until a solid product is formed with a moisture content below 10%; f) grind and sieve the product to a size of 0.1 mm to 5 mm; g) Esterify with heat at 80°C to 180°C for 15 minutes to 12 hours.
