Abstract
A non-electronic calculator, consisting of a printed platform or base with sixteen matrices grouped into four columns and four rows. Each of these matrices manipulates eight rotating pieces that can be made of metal, wood, plastic, or a combination thereof. The two upper rotating pieces contain the symbols used to indicate multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, square roots, squares, and other operations. Each of the three rotating pieces on the left side of the reading strip contains a spiral representing zero, a black line or segment representing five in Mayan symbols, two red lines or segments representing ten in Mayan symbols, and three red lines or segments representing fifteen in Mayan symbols. And a blank face indicating no value. The other three rotating pieces on the right side of the reading strip of each matrix contain on each of its faces a black dot representing the number one in Mayan symbols, on another face two dots representing the number two in Mayan symbols, on another face three dots representing the number three in Mayan symbols, and four dots representing the number four in Mayan symbols, and a blank face indicating no value. With all these rotating pieces, one can find the value of a three-by-three determinant, equations with two or three unknowns, multiplications, divisions, among other operations.
