Abstract
Devices and methods for verifying the reliability of a data stream are described. According to one aspect, one or more supplementary information messages are considered in the reliability of a data stream. According to another aspect, the data stream indicates whether a segment is the first or last segment of an assigned sequence. According to additional aspects, repetitions of certain supplementary information messages within certain portions of a data stream are either excluded from the reliability check or prohibited within the data stream.
