COMPACTOR ASSEMBLIES FOR GARBAGE CONTAINERS

Abstract

An assembly is provided for compacting material disposed within an open-lidded container, including a roller compactor attached to an arm. The roller compactor is positionable relative to the open-lidded container between a first vertical position and a second vertical position. The assembly includes a frame attached to the arm. The frame comprises first and second posts arranged on opposite sides of the roller compactor. The first and second posts each define proximal and distal ends. The first and second shoes of the assembly are pivotally coupled to the distal ends of the first and second posts. Each shoe defines intervals sized to engage by sliding with an upper rail of the open-lidded container. The assembly includes crossbars extending between each post and the arm.The crossbeams are movable with respect to the posts in response to the movement of the roller compactor between the first and second vertical positions.
