Description

[0001] Arrangement with a furniture hinge and a cover

[0002] The present invention relates to an arrangement comprising:

[0003] - at least one furniture hinge, wherein the at least one furniture hinge has a first fitting part for attachment to a first piece of furniture, a second fitting part for attachment to a second piece of furniture, and at least one pivot axis via which the first fitting part and the second fitting part are pivotally connected to each other, and

[0004] - at least one cover by which a gap formed between the first fitting part and the second fitting part can be covered, at least in sections.

[0005] Furthermore, the invention relates to a piece of furniture comprising a furniture body and at least two furniture parts movable relative to the furniture body, wherein the at least two furniture parts are articulated to each other by at least one furniture hinge of the arrangement to be described.

[0006] WO 2018 / 204945 A1 discloses a furniture hinge for connecting two door leaves, wherein a gap formed between the door leaves can be covered by a cover. The furniture hinge has a bearing body with guides into which the cover can be inserted or snapped onto the hinge. A disadvantage of this design is that the installation and removal of the cover from the furniture hinge are relatively complex. To prevent the cover from sagging when installed, it must be fixed to the bearing body with a relatively high clamping force. This makes both the installation of the cover on the bearing body more difficult and, due to the high clamping force, the cover can only be removed with considerable manual effort.

[0007] The object of the present invention is to provide an arrangement of the aforementioned type while avoiding the disadvantages discussed above, and by simplifying the assembly and disassembly of the cover on the furniture hinge. This is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1. Further embodiments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.

[0008] According to the invention, at least one fastening device is provided for fastening the at least one cover to the at least one furniture hinge, wherein the at least one fastening device has a locking device with which the at least one fastening device can be fixed in a longitudinal direction of the at least one cover at different positions of the at least one cover.

[0009] According to one embodiment, the locking device of the at least one fastening device may have a locking screw by which the fastening device can be locked to the cover in different positions.

[0010] Alternatively, the fastening device can be self-locking and positioned at different locations along the cover. This can be achieved, for example, by having interlocking teeth or serrations between the fastening device and the cover, allowing the fastening device to be moved along a longitudinal direction of the cover after overcoming a self-locking holding force.

[0011] According to one embodiment, the at least one fastening device is slidably mounted in the longitudinal direction of the cover, preferably having at least one linear guide for slidably mounting the fastening device along the cover.

[0012] The at least one fastening device can include a coupling device for coupling the at least one fastening device, and thus the at least one cover, to the at least one furniture hinge. According to a structurally simple embodiment, the coupling device can have a recess and a pin that can be inserted into the recess, preferably the recess being located on the fastening device and the pin on the furniture hinge, and particularly preferably the pin being located or formed on the pivot axis of the furniture hinge.

[0013] The first fitting part and / or the second fitting part can have at least one support surface for supporting the at least one fastening device, so that movement of the cover in its mounted state along a longitudinal direction of the at least one pivot axis is prevented.

[0014] The cover can be coupled with a relative movement of the fitting parts to each other, preferably being provided that the cover is at least partially movable about the at least one pivot axis during the relative movement of the fitting parts to each other.

[0015] Further details and advantages of the present invention are explained with reference to the following description of the figures.

[0016] Figs. 1a and 1b show a perspective view of a piece of furniture with a furniture body and furniture parts that can be moved relative to it, as well as an enlarged detail view thereof.

[0017] Figs. 2a, 2b show a possible embodiment of a furniture hinge in two different relative positions of the fitting parts to each other,

[0018] Fig. 3 shows the furniture hinge with the cover to be attached, Figs. 4a, 4b show the cover to be attached to the furniture hinge and the cover attached to the furniture hinge in perspective views.

[0019] Figures 5a-5h show a temporal sequence of a relative movement of the fitting parts to each other, as well as enlarged detail views thereof.

[0020] Figs. 6a-6c show a top view of the furniture according to Fig. 1a as well as two different positions of the furniture parts relative to each other.

[0021] Fig. 1a shows a perspective view of a piece of furniture 1 with a furniture body 2 and furniture parts 3a, 3b in the form of door leaves that are movable relative to it. The furniture parts 3a, 3b can be designed as a sliding door or a folding sliding door. In the illustrated embodiment, the furniture parts 3a, 3b are movable between a first position, in which the furniture parts 3a, 3b are essentially coplanar to each other, and a second position, in which the furniture parts 3a, 3b are essentially parallel to each other. In the first (coplanar) position of the furniture parts 3a, 3b, the furniture body 2 can be closed; in the second (parallel) position shown, the furniture parts 3a, 3b can be inserted into a lateral slot 9. The two furniture parts 3a, 3b are connected to each other by means of two or more (not shown here) furniture hinges 15 via at least one vertically running joint axis 20 (Fig. 3).

[0022] A first guide rail 5 is provided to guide the furniture parts 3a and 3b. In its assembled state, this guide rail extends parallel to a front face of the furniture body 2 and can be covered by a cover plate 26. A second guide rail 6 is also provided, which, in its assembled state, extends transversely, preferably at a substantially right angle, to the first guide rail 5. A carriage 7 is pivotally connected to the second furniture part 3b, and the carriage 7 is movable along the first guide rail 5. An elongated support 8, which is movable along the second guide rail 6, allows the two furniture parts 3a and 3b to be inserted into the side compartment 9.The support 8 is movable into a transfer position in which it connects longitudinally to the first guide rail 5 such that the carriage 7, connected to the second furniture part 3b, can be moved back and forth between the first guide rail 5 and the support 8. The first furniture part 3a is pivotally connected to the support 8. In the illustrated embodiment, the insert compartment 9 is formed by two parallel, spaced-apart side walls 10a, 10b of the furniture body 2.

[0023] Fig. 1b shows an enlarged view of the area “A” circled in Fig. 1a. A cover 4 can at least partially cover a gap 11 formed between the two parallel furniture parts 3a, 3b. The cover 4, preferably made of metal or plastic, can extend substantially over the entire height of the furniture parts 3a, 3b. One surface of the cover 4 can be arcuate in cross-section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (L) of the cover 4, with the preferably arcuate surface of the cover 4 projecting beyond the narrow sides of the furniture parts 3a, 3b when they are in a parallel position. The cover 4 prevents fingers from accidentally entering the gap 11, reduces the ingress of dirt, and creates an attractive appearance.

[0024] Fig. 2a shows a possible embodiment of a furniture hinge 15 for the articulated connection of the two furniture parts 3a, 3b. The furniture hinge 15 comprises a first fitting 12a for attachment to the first furniture part 3a and a second fitting 12b articulated with the first fitting 12a for attachment to the second furniture part 3b. The first fitting 12a has a first mounting surface 13a for bearing against the first furniture part 3a, and the second fitting 12b has a second mounting surface 13b for bearing against the second furniture part 3b. The fittings 12a, 12b can have at least one or more mounting points 14a, 14b for attachment to the furniture parts 3a, 3b, which are, for example, designed as holes for the passage of screws. The fastening points 14a, 14b may also have at least one dowel for fastening to the furniture parts 3a, 3b.

[0025] The fitting parts 12a, 12b of the furniture hinge 15 are movable relative to each other between a first position, in which the mounting surfaces 13a, 13b of the fitting parts 12a, 12b are essentially coplanar to each other (Fig. 2b), and a second position, in which the mounting surfaces 13a, 13b of the fitting parts 12a, 12b are essentially parallel to each other (Fig. 2a). The cover 4 can be coupled to a relative movement of the fitting parts 12a, 12b to each other, such that the cover 4 is movable at least partially about a pivot axis 20 (Fig. 3) connecting the fitting parts 12a, 12b when the fitting parts 12a, 12b move relative to each other.

[0026] Fig. 3 shows the furniture hinge 15 with the fitting parts 12a, 12b, which are pivotably connected to each other via at least one pivot axis 20. A first adjusting device 21 allows the furniture parts 3a, 3b to be adjusted laterally relative to each other in a mounted state at the fitting parts 12a, 12b. A second adjusting device 22 allows the furniture parts 3a, 3b to be adjusted vertically relative to each other in a mounted state at the fitting parts 12a, 12b. The cover 4 allows the gap 11 formed between the fitting parts 12a, 12b to be covered, at least partially.

[0027] The cover 4 has a longitudinal direction (L), wherein a lateral surface of the cover 4 can be arcuate, preferably partially cylindrical, in cross-section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (L). The cover 4 can have at least one linear guide 16a, 16b, by which a fastening device 17 for attaching the cover 4 to the furniture hinge 15 is slidable along the cover 4. The fastening device 17 also has at least one linear guide 19a, 19b, which interacts with the linear guides 16a, 16b of the cover 4. The fastening device 17 has a locking device 18, by which the fastening device 17 can be fixed at different positions in the longitudinal direction (L) of the cover 4. The locking device 18 can have at least one locking screw 18a, by which the fastening device 17 can be clamped to the cover 4.

[0028] In a first assembly step, the fastening device 17 is pre-positioned along the cover 4 and then fixed to the cover 4 using the locking device 18. The exact position of the fastening device 17 on the cover 4 can be determined, for example, by measuring.

[0029] The fastening device 17 further comprises a coupling device 24 for coupling the fastening device 17 and thus for coupling the cover 4 to the furniture hinge 15. The coupling device 24 can have a recess 24a (Fig. 4a) and a pin 20a that can be inserted into the recess 24a, preferably being arranged on the fastening device 17 and the pin 20a on the furniture hinge 15. It can also be provided that the pin 20a is arranged or formed on the pivot axis 20 of the furniture hinge 15. The longitudinal direction of the pin 20a and the longitudinal direction of the pivot axis 20 can be coaxial or parallel and spaced apart from each other. To mount the cover 4 on the furniture hinge 15, the recess 24a of the coupling device 24 is slid onto the pin 20a.The cover 4 can be easily removed by lifting the cover 4 in its mounted state on the furniture hinge 15, so that the recess 24a of the coupling device 24 is separated from the pin 20a.

[0030] The fastening device 17 further comprises a limiting element 25, which, when the fastening device 17 is mounted, projects forward from the cover 4. The limiting element 25 restricts any buckling movement of the furniture parts 3a, 3b, when they are in a coplanar position relative to each other, in the direction of the depth of the furniture body 2. The function of the limiting element 25 will be explained later with reference to Figures 6a-6c. The limiting element 25 also serves as a guide, so that the fastening device 17 can be more easily positioned along the longitudinal direction (L) of the cover 4 by manually actuating the limiting element 25.

[0031] The first fitting part 12a and / or the second fitting part 12b can have at least one support surface 23 for supporting the at least one fastening device 17 on the furniture hinge 15, such that movement of the cover 4 along a longitudinal direction of the at least one pivot axis 20 is prevented. The cover 4 is to be attached to at least two separate furniture hinges 15 by means of at least two separate fastening devices 17.

[0032] The fastening device 17 can have at least one limiting element 25 by which a bending movement of the two fitting parts 12a, 12b relative to each other can be limited, preferably wherein the at least one limiting element 25 - in a mounted state of the fastening device 17 projects from the cover 4, preferably wherein the cover 4 has an outer surface 31a and an inner surface 31b spaced apart by the material thickness of the cover 4, to which the cover 4 can be fastened via the fastening device 17 with the two fitting parts 12a, 12b, wherein the limiting element 25 projects from the inner surface 31b of the cover 4, and / or - has at least one handle 25a by which the fastening device 17 can be positioned along the longitudinal direction (L) of the cover 4, and / or

[0033] - has at least one stop surface 32 which can be supported on an end face 33 (Fig. 6a-6c) of a furniture body 2 during the bending movement of the two fitting parts 12a, 12b to each other.

[0034] According to a preferred embodiment, at least one of the fitting parts 12a, 12b, preferably both fitting parts 12a, 12b, can be arranged on the furniture parts 3a, 3b completely outside the material thickness of the furniture parts 3a, 3b when assembled. In this way, the furniture parts do not need to be provided with complex recesses or bores for partially receiving the fitting parts 12a, 12b. Instead, the fitting parts 12a, 12b can, for example, be simply screwed onto the furniture parts 3a, 3b.

[0035] Fig. 4a shows a perspective view of the cover 4 to be attached to the furniture hinge 15. The fastening device 17 is pre-mounted on the cover 4, with the coupling device 24 having a recess 24a into which the pin 20a of the hinge axis 20 can be inserted. Fig. 4b shows the cover 4 attached to the furniture hinge 15. The connection to the furniture hinge 15 can be released by lifting the cover 4.

[0036] Figures 5a-5h show a temporal sequence of the relative movement of the fitting parts 12a, 12b with respect to each other, as well as enlarged detail views. In Figure 5a, the mounting surfaces 13a, 13b are essentially coplanar to each other. The cover 4 is pivotally mounted about the pivot axis 20, whereby a movement of the cover 4 about the pivot axis 20 is coupled to a relative movement of the fitting parts 12a, 12b.

[0037] The first fitting part 12a and / or the second fitting part 12b has or have at least one stop 27a, 27b, while the cover 4 is provided with at least one counter-stop 28a, 28b. When the fitting parts 12a, 12b move relative to each other, the at least one stop 27a, 27b of the first fitting part 12a and / or the second fitting part 12b abuts the at least one counter-stop 28a, 28b of the cover 4, whereby the cover 4 is at least partially movable about the pivot axis 20 due to the contact of the at least one stop 27a, 27b with the at least one counter-stop 28a, 28b. It can be seen that in the position shown, in which the mounting surfaces 13a, 13b are aligned parallel to each other, the cover 4 is set back in a direction perpendicular to the mounting surfaces 13a, 13b. Fig. 5b shows the area “C” circled in Fig. 5a in an enlarged view.It can be seen that the stop 27a of the first fitting part 12a is still spaced away from the counter stop 28a of the cover 4.

[0038] Fig. 5c shows a relative position of the fitting parts 12a, 12b, wherein the

[0039] The mounting surfaces 13a, 13b of the fitting parts 12a, 12b are aligned approximately at right angles to each other. It can be seen that the stop 27a of the first fitting part 12a abuts the counter-stop 28a of the cover 4. This initiates a pivoting movement of the cover 4 about the pivot axis 20. Fig. 5d shows the area “C” circled in Fig. 5c in an enlarged view.

[0040] Fig. 5e shows a relative position of the fitting parts 12a, 12b, wherein the

[0041] The mounting surfaces 13a, 13b of the fitting parts 12a, 12b are aligned at an angle of approximately 50° to each other. The contact of the stop 27a with the counter-stop 28a moves the cover 4 about the pivot axis 20. Fig. 5f shows an enlarged view of the area “C” circled in Fig. 5e.

[0042] Fig. 5g shows a relative position of the fitting parts 12a, 12b, wherein the

[0043] The mounting surfaces 13a, 13b of the fitting parts 12a, 12b run parallel to each other. In this position of the furniture hinge 15, the cover 4 protrudes in a direction parallel to the mounting surfaces 13a, 13b.

[0044] When the furniture hinge 15 moves from the position shown in Fig. 5g towards the position shown in Fig. 5a, the second stop 27b of the second fitting part 12b abuts the second counter-stop 28b of the cover 4, so that the cover 4 can pivot in the opposite direction about the pivot axis 20. However, the arrangement of the second stop 27b and the second counter-stop 28b can be omitted, for example, by using at least one spring element to return the cover 4 to the opposite position.

[0045] The at least one counter-stop 28a, 28b of the cover 4 extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction (L) of the cover 4, preferably extending substantially over the entire length of the cover 4. In the illustrated embodiment, the counter-stops 28a, 28b of the cover 4 are formed integrally with the linear guides 16a, 16b (Fig. 3) of the cover 4.

[0046] Fig. 6a shows the furniture 1 according to Fig. 1a in a top view, showing the furniture body 2 and the furniture parts 3a, 3b in a coplanar position. Visible are the transverse guide rails 5, 6 and the lateral insertion compartment 9, into which the furniture parts 3a, 3b can be inserted in a position parallel to each other. The furniture parts 3a, 3b are articulated to each other by two or more furniture hinges 15.

[0047] An ejection device 29 is provided for ejecting the furniture parts 3a, 3b from the coplanar position shown to an angled position relative to each other. In the figure shown, the ejection device 29 is attached to the first furniture part 3a, with a support roller 30 of the ejection device 29 being able to be supported on the cover 26 or on the first guide rail 5. The ejection device 29 preferably has a touch-latch function, i.e., that the ejection device 29 can be triggered by pushing the furniture parts 3a, 3b from the coplanar closed position shown into an overpressure position located behind the closed position. Such ejection devices 29 with a touch-latch function are well known and do not need to be described in more detail here.

[0048] Fig. 6b shows an enlarged view of the area “A” framed in Fig. 6a. In the coplanar position of the furniture parts 3a, 3b, the limiting element 25 is slightly spaced from the cover 26, for example by about 3 mm. If the furniture parts 3a, 3b are now pressed inwards from their coplanar position towards the depth of the furniture carcass 2 in the area of the axis connecting them, the limiting element 25 abuts the cover 26 (Fig. 6c) and thus prevents further buckling of the furniture parts 3a, 3b towards the depth of the furniture carcass 2. In this way, a defined release path can also be provided for the ejection device 29 with the touch-latch function, whereby the furniture parts 3a, 3b can be ejected by the ejection device 29 from their coplanar position over a partial distance towards the parallel position.
