Abstract
The present invention discloses a wearable glucose monitoring system (100), and a method (200) for producing thereof. The system (100) includes a flexible substrate (102) that conforms to a user's skin, a hollow microneedle array, HMN array (104) configured for minimally invasive interstitial fluid sampling. A reservoir pad (106) is fluidly connected to the HMN array (104) to collect the fluid. An organic electrochemical transistor, OECT sensor (150) is incorporated, with a sensing layer (108) that detects glucose levels through electrochemical reactions facilitated by the fluid. A channel (110), made of organic semiconductor material, modulates its conductivity based on these reactions. The system also includes source and drain electrodes (112) for measuring current flow, a gate electrode (114) to control ion movement, and an insulating layer (116) provided around the channel (110) and the sensing layer (108). An interfacing circuit (118) processes electrical signals to determine glucose levels, providing a real-time, user-friendly solution for glucose monitoring. The system (100) also comprises an FPC connector connecting the overall sensor components with the interfacing circuit in a retrofittable manner. The most illustrative drawing is Figure 1b
