Abstract

ABSTRACT AN ELECTRIC DOUBLE-LAYER CAPACITOR The present invention proposes an electric double-layer capacitor (100) characterized by a first and second electrode (10), comprising activated carbon pre-treated with sodium hydroxide and sulfuric acid; a gel polymer electrolyte (20) disposed between the first and second electrodes (10), wherein the gel polymer electrolyte (20) is prepared by in-situ polymerization of a precursor solution (21) comprising: vinyl acetate monomer, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ionic liquid, lithium bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide salt, and a radical initiator. The method for preparing the gel polymer electrolyte (20) and fabricating the electrical double-layer capacitor (100) are also disclosed herein. (Figure 1)
