Abstract
The present invention discloses a sustainable, environmentally friendly, and efficient method to improve properties such as hardness, lifespan, and efficiency of a metallic alloy surface for tribological applications. It ensures precise control over coating applications, providing optimal thickness, protection, and property enhancement. The method comprises the steps of providing a coating composition comprising a silicon carbide-graphene oxide prepared in a fluid bath; and coating the metallic alloy with the coating composition assisted by a tungsten inert gas, TIG, torch liquid additive manufacturing, LAM, technique. This innovative approach significantly improves the performance of metallic alloys, making them more durable and effective for various industrial uses while adhering to environmental sustainability standards. The combination of advanced materials and precise application techniques ensures that the metallic surfaces achieve superior quality and longevity. This method holds great potential for industries seeking to optimise their materials while minimising their environmental footprint.
