AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for plant cultivation using superabsorbent polymers in plant pots do not effectively promote root growth and oxygen balance during the germination and rooting phases, leading to suboptimal plant development and increased risk of root diseases.

Method used

The method involves placing reproductive bodies in multiple locations within a larger container with superabsorbent gel pads, ensuring adequate oxygen supply and moisture retention, and separating the gel from the growth medium after the rooting phase to enhance root development and plant growth.

Benefits of technology

This approach accelerates plant growth, improves root development, and enhances plant quality by maintaining an optimal water-oxygen balance, reducing the risk of root diseases, and optimizing cultivation conditions for higher yields and sustainability.

Abstract

A method for growing plants comprises: - placing on the bottom of a container 9 a pad 11 comprising two interconnected sheets 13 and 15 with superabsorbent gel 17 between them, - applying growth medium 3 to the pad. - introducing reproductive bodies into the growth medium 3 at several spaced intervals, - periodically moistening the growth medium 3 during the first phase of the growth period so that root growth or germination followed by root growth of the reproductive bodies takes place and the superabsorbent gel 17 adheres to the roots 19, and - separating the pad 11 with the growth medium 3 present thereon into sections 21, in each section containing one place with at least one plantlet grown from the reproductive body or reproductive bodies.
