A contour measurement device measures a breast contour of the breast portion in a plane parallel to a sagittal plane of the poultry part While a conveyor conveys the mandrel, and the poultry part supported thereby, in a conveyance direction along the contour measurement device. Based on the measured breast contour, a setting of a downstream processing device is adjusted.
