Abstract
The present invention relates to a use of a cystathionine-y-lyase (CTH) inhibitor and / or a solute carrier family 7 member 11 (XCT) inhibitor in the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting embryo implantation in mammals, within the technical field of medicine. The present invention experimentally verifies the effect of the CTH inhibitor and / or XCT inhibitor in preventing embryo implantation in mammals. The results demonstrate that the CTH inhibitor and / or XCT inhibitor can significantly suppress the proliferation of luteinized granulosa cells and reduce progesterone secretion in mouse models. Furthermore, intraperitoneal administration of the CTH inhibitor and / or XCT inhibitor in these models not only markedly inhibits ovarian ovulation and the nuclear maturation of ovulated oocytes, but also substantially impairs functional corpus luteum formation and embryo implantation. Accordingly, the present invention provides novel concepts and strategies for the development of safe and effective contraceptive pharmaceuticals.
