Disclosed is a flow generator typically for a PAP system for delivering breathable gas to a patient which has a controller configured so that when an air delivery tube is inserted electrical contacts allow for the controller to sense a tube type such as diameter by a condition of a resistor, typically a thermistor, on the tube.
