Abstract
This invention is relative to mosquito repellent compositions that combine both repellent (i.e. prevent mosquito landing) and excito-repellent (i.e. prevent mosquito biting and sucking) properties for protecting humans from mosquitoborne diseases, as well as in mitigating the nuisance caused by mosquitoes bites; these compositions are natural and highly effective, without the need of inclusion of chemical additives or DEET (N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide) in particular. The components mentioned above showed a very promising potency profile for a new generation of repellent which can be developed as an alternative to DEET. They showed good performance regarding efficacy against _Aedes albopictus_ in landing and blood sucking. The plants from which extracts are derived are readily available in rainforest for up-scaled production of the natural repellent. Application : 1. Spray application for vector control 2. Cutaneous application (lotion, milk, gel, cream, soap) for vector control 3. Impregnation of clothes and fabrics such as mosquito nets for vector control
