Abstract

The present invention relates to compounds of formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein: R1 is halo, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 haloalkyl, or C3-C6 cycloalkyl; R7 and R2 combine to form a 5- to 10-membered monocyclic or bicyclic heterocycle, among others; R3 is absent, H, C1-C6 alkyl, or C1-C6 haloalkyl; R4 is -C1-C6 alkylene-, among others; Z is -CO2H or -CO2PG, wherein PG is C1-C6 alkyl, C6 aryl, or (C6 aryl)(C1-C6 alkyl), further wherein alkyl and aryl are optionally substituted with one or more halo, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy, or C1-C6 haloalkoxy; each R5 is independently halo, C1-C6 alkyl or C1-C6 haloalkyl; and each R6, R6', or R6” is independently H, halo, -OH, C1-C6 alkoxy, C1-C6 haloalkoxy, C1-C6 alkyl or C1-C6 haloalkyl.The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, together with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers; and to a process for preparing the compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, or the pharmaceutical composition, enables the treatment or prevention of a disease or disorder related to NLRP3.
