Abstract

The present invention relates to a plastic support chair for reinforcing bars in lightweight slabs with expanded polystyrene (EPS) formwork. The chair comprises a relatively wide support base, configured to rest directly on the surface of the formwork and distribute the load, a plurality of support columns or legs extending from the base, and an upper portion provided with cradles to hold reinforcing bars at a predetermined height. The contact surfaces of the cradles have a rough or non-slip surface designed to increase friction with the bar and limit its displacement during reinforcement and concrete pouring.The underside of the base incorporates lower coupling slots configured to complementarily receive the cradles of a second chair, allowing the stable stacking of two units and the obtaining of different concrete coverings without the need to use different separator models.
