Abstract

The invention relates to an applicator for inserting an implant under a patient's skin. The applicator comprises a housing containing a cannula that is attached to a cannula holder and slides into the housing. The cannula has an opening at its distal end and a lateral opening. The implant is housed within the cannula and / or the cannula holder. A safety mechanism retains the implant inside the cannula. This mechanism comprises an arm configurable between a first position, which prevents the implant from exiting through the cannula opening, and a second position, which allows the implant to be placed under the skin through the opening.
