Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for obtaining a phycocyanin biopigment from spirulina (Arthrospira platensis), comprising the steps of phycocyanin extraction, followed by phycocyanin stabilization, and finally phycocyanin drying. The resulting biopigment exhibits favorable results in rub and wash fastness tests, demonstrating its high suitability for dyeing.
