Abstract
A lifting system is provided for an industrial machine, including a supported digging attachment for its movement to excavate material. The lifting system includes a rope coupling device configured to engage with the digging attachment; a synthetic rope configured to extend between a lifting drum and the rope coupling device, at least a portion of the synthetic rope being configured to selectively wrap over the lifting drum; and a rope protector extending along an outer surface of the synthetic rope.
