Abstract
The present invention consists of a parasitological collector for taking stool samples for laboratory examinations. This device addresses the limitations of conventional designs, whose flat, flimsy spatulas often detach from the lid and become trapped inside the tube, preventing their safe removal due to biosafety regulations that prohibit inserting hands into narrow containers. Unlike existing products that use inserted spoons, this invention integrates the spatula and lid into a single piece (monoblock), eliminating the risk of separation and loss of the tool inside the container. Furthermore, the invention features a tubular spatula that is five times wider and longer than traditional spatulas, providing the necessary rigidity and consistency to efficiently collect hard or pasty samples in a single attempt, significantly optimizing analytical processing times. The design also incorporates a dispenser located between the lid and the spatula, which facilitates the collection of appropriate portions of liquid stool and ensures spill-free transport. This guarantees greater biosafety for laboratory personnel and a simpler, more efficient experience for both the patient and the specialist.
