Abstract
The invention, entitled "Ecological Composting Procedure for Pet Carcasses Using Organic Matter from Household Waste," proposes a novel and environmentally friendly method for disposing of pet remains. It uses household organic waste as raw material to create a reusable composter made of plastic. The process begins with the preparation of a pre-compost by mixing organic waste with sawdust in a 1:1 ratio and adding microorganism inoculants. Composting then takes place by placing a base of dry plant material, such as leaves and branches, to facilitate air circulation and absorb leachate. During the process, temperature, humidity, and pH are monitored weekly. After three months, the compost is harvested and sieved to separate bones and large fragments. The bones are then subjected to pyrolysis, a thermal decomposition process in the absence of oxygen, to convert them into biochar, a useful carbonaceous material. The method is a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative for managing pet remains, promoting the reuse of organic waste and reducing environmental impact.
