Disposable anatomical vaginal speculum, lotus flower type, with integrated dual lidocaine delivery system via microchannels

Abstract

A disposable, anatomical vaginal speculum with a lotus flower design and integrated dual-release lidocaine microchannel system comprises a pistol-shaped body with an ergonomic handle and a central viewing channel. The front features a main gear from which multiple overlapping, flexible petals unfold radially, activated by a trigger connected to secondary gears, mimicking the opening of a lotus flower. Each petal incorporates a longitudinal microchannel with distribution orifices connected by tubing to an analgesic reservoir located in the handle. The handle also includes a release button that functions as a pressure piston to deliver a controlled amount of liquid or gel analgesic to the petals during the gynecological procedure.
