Abstract

Antibacterial compounds of Formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, are provided; pharmaceutical compositions and a method for treating a bacterial infection in a subject in need thereof are also provided. This is a compound of Formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R1 is –OC(O)RA; and RA is optionally substituted aryl, optionally substituted heteroaryl, optionally substituted heterocyclyl, optionally substituted cycloalkyl, and optionally substituted (C1-C20) alkyl, wherein said optionally substituted (C1-C20) alkyl may be substituted with one or more heteroatoms such as O, N, and S, and wherein two adjacent H atoms on the same C atom of one or more carbons in said (C1-C20) alkyl may be taken together to form =O.
