Abstract
The present invention discloses a new system and method for efficiently generating electricity from saltwater. The disclosed invention combines a charge-trapping structure with a triboelectric-enabled material surface to harness electricity from the movement of saltwater bodies. By employing the principles of triboelectricity and charge trapping, this generator opens up new possibilities for harvesting electricity from saltwater sources such as estuaries, lakes, rivers, the open sea, and the ocean. In addition, the disclosed invention includes functions to prevent material corrosion, material cavitation, bacterial growth, and biofouling. By immersing the invention in or on the surface of saltwater, it effectively uses the power of ocean waves and the salinity of the water to generate electricity. This invention offers a sustainable, renewable energy solution for harnessing clean electricity from saltwater, making it a promising technology for a variety of clean energy applications.
