A fluid-processing device for a beverage preparation machine

Abstract

A fluid processing device (10) for a beverage preparation machine is disclosed. The device is configured to process a fluid substance introduced into a container (C) for preparing a beverage by mixing the fluid with an ingredient in the container. The device includes a fluid processing body (12) having an inlet portion (14) and at least one inlet means (18) positioned there for introducing the fluid into the container. The body (12) further comprises an outlet portion (16) with at least one outlet means (20) for dispensing the prepared beverage from the container. Preferably, the fluid processing body (12) is needle-shaped and includes at least one end portion (26; 28) designed to perforate, pierce, or tear a portion or wall of the container (C) prior to the introduction of the fluid substance, thereby enabling effective mixing and beverage preparation.
