Abstract

The present utility model relates to a topical ointment formulated for the treatment of wounds and various skin disorders, including eczema, sunburn, insect bites, bee stings, rashes, and skin irritation. The ointment utilizes an extract derived from banana (Musa paradisiaca) leaves, which are rich in bioactive compounds such as allantoin, alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, glycosides, saponins, and tannins, known for their wound-healing, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. The banana leaf extract is infused into a soya oil base, with beeswax and petrolatum jelly added to enhance the product’s consistency, stability, and moisturizing effect. The manufacturing process includes washing, drying, grinding, soaking, and filtering the banana leaves to extract their active components, followed by mixing with the additional ingredients to achieve the desired ointment formulation. The final product is packaged in aluminum tubes to protect it from UV exposure and maintain its therapeutic properties. This ointment offers a natural and effective solution for skin healing and care.
