Abstract
The process of producing dewormer from noni seeds for goats involved soaking, mashing, and removing seeds of ripe noni fruits. The removed seeds are air dried up to 60% moisture. It is then pulverized and refined using a food grinder and mortar and pestle, respectively. The pulverized seeds were soaked in water and then boiled for 1 hour at 100°C. The mixture is cooled down to 27°C and then sieved and filtered several times using muslin cloth, filter paper before pouring it into centrifuge tubes. The tubes are rotated for 30 mins at 1,000 rpm and then filtered again afterwards. The resulting solvent is placed in labelled bottles and stored at 5°C. The dewormer is given to goats orally before they are supplemented with any feed, followed succeeding doses after 7 days and 21 days. The dewormer is a low-cost and environment-friendly alternative for chemical-based anthelmintic available in the market.
