Abstract

The utility model relates to an improved siphoning device designed for safe handling of delicate fish larvae in aquaculture hatcheries and laboratory environments. The device comprises a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe having a diameter of four (4) inches and a height of two (2) inches, with fine mesh nets of 100-micron pore size attached to both ends. A connector tube with a diameter of one-half (½) inch and a length of two (2) inches is attached flush to the PVC pipe wall and connects to a flexible rubber hose having a diameter of one-half (½) inch and a length of two (2) meters. Two manual ball valves are installed along the hose to regulate and retain water flow. The device prevents accidental suction of larvae and provides safer, controlled, and efficient siphoning.
