Abstract
This utility model discloses a process for producing aromatically-enhanced and long-burning charcoal briquettes utilizing a formulation of 80% carbonized sawdust and 15% carbonized spent coffee grounds (Coffea spp.) by weight. The process incorporates 3% calcium carbonate (CaCO3) as a combustion regulator to stabilize the burning rate of the porous sawdust particles and 2% cassava starch as a natural binder. The carbonized biomass materials are pulverized and blended with water in an amount ranging from 10% to 15% by total volume to form a malleable paste, which is subsequently pressure-molded into uniform briquettes and air-dried for 24 to 48 hours. The resulting product is characterized by a minimum sustained combustion duration of 90 minutes and a reduced smoke output. This innovation provides a sustainable energy alternative that emits a pleasant coffee aroma during use, making it ideal for domestic and commercial heating and cooking applications.
