Abstract
This utility model discloses the formulation of milk pills (pastillas) from buffalo milk (Bubalus bubalis) and purple yam (Dioscorea alata L. var kinampay). It is composed of 35.65% by weight buffalo milk, 17.53% by weight purple yam, 17.53% by weight powdered milk, 29.23% by weight granulated sugar, and 0.06% by weight salt. Peel and slice purple yam into 3 mm using a knife for even drying. Dehydrate until brittle, grind into fine powder, and sift. Heat buffalo milk with sugar, stirring continuously, add powdered yam. Cook until thick and sticky, cool, and shape into small balls. Roll in sugar and wrap. This utility model solves the challenge of achieving smooth texture and authentic flavor by using low-heat reduction and controlled blending, producing high-quality pastillas with enhanced taste and nutritional value.
