An improved structural precast concrete panel

Abstract

A structural precast concrete panel (10) for building construction comprises spacedapart first and second panel members (11,12). Each panel member is a unitary body (P) defined by an upper longitudinal edge (13), a lower longitudinal edge (14), and a pair of transverse edges (15). The first and second panel members (11,12) feature smooth outer surfaces and rough inner surfaces. An upper channel (16a) is formed along the upper longitudinal edge (13), and a lower channel (16b) is formed along the lower longitudinal edge (14) of each panel member. Connector spacers (17) are secured within the upper channels and lower channels. This arrangement fixedly connects the first and second panel members (11,12) together, forming an integrated structural precast concrete panel (10) during building installation.
