Abstract

A utility model relating to coconut fruit processing is disclosed, particularly a grating apparatus for coconut. The apparatus comprises a frame structure supporting a prime mover mounted at a lower portion thereof, the prime mover having a rotating shaft provided with a pulley. A grater assembly is operatively connected to the prime mover by an endless belt such that rotational motion from the prime mover drives the grater assembly to grate coconut meat. A conveyor assembly is mounted to the frame structure and positioned between the prime mover and the grater assembly, the conveyor assembly being configured to receive and continuously convey grated coconut away from the grater assembly. The conveyor assembly is operatively driven by the same endless belt to provide synchronized operation with the grater assembly. The apparatus enables continuous processing of coconut meat with reduced accumulation beneath the grater assembly and improved handling of grated coconut during operation.
