Drafting device with condensing zone

Abstract

A drafting device for drafting staple fibres comprises a driveable bottom roller, which is assigned to two top rollers. In a condensing zone between the two top rollers, mechanical means for condensing a fibre strand, drafted in the drafting device, are provided. In the condensing zone, transport means for supporting the fibre strand to be condensed are provided between the nipping lines of the two top rollers. The means for condensing comprise at least one guiding surface, with which the fibre strand is deflectable from its transport direction in axial direction of the bottom roller by at least the amount of its width. The means for condensing can comprise at least two guiding surfaces, whose smallest distance to one another is larger than the width of the condensed fibre strand. In addition a condensing component for a drafting device of this type is described, which comprises the condensing means.
