Abstract

The present invention provides hydrate A of aripiprazole wherein said Hydrate A has a powder x-ray diffraction spectrum which is substantially the same as the following powder x-ray diffraction spectrum shown in figure 3; particular infrared absorption bands at 2951, 2822, 1692, 1577, 1447, 1378, 1187, 963 and 787 cm-1 on the IR (KBr) spectrum; an endothermic curve which is substantially the same as the thermogravimetric / differential thermal analysis (heating rate 5o C / min) endothermic curve shown below shown in Figure 1; and a mean particle size of 50 pm or less.
