Ophthalmic composition containing brivudine 5-[(E)-2-bromoethenyl]-1-[(2R,4S,5R)-4hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-2yl]pyrimidine-2,4-dion as active ingredient, and a film-forming agent selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polyacrylate (PA).
