Abstract

A glass-fibre spool is specified which has a self- supporting winding (12), with layers of turns (20) located one on top of the other, of a glass fibre (13) which can be unwound from the winding interior in order to transmit information, with the turns (20) being fixed on one another by means of an adhesive binding agent.
