Novel modified synthesis insecticidal genes and the development of insectresistant cotton

Abstract

The present invention relates the filed of plant genetic engineering, and provides an insecticidal gene, the genic encoding protein and its application. The present invention synthesizes CmCry2Aα insecticidal gene according to the cotton codon preference. And further obtains the Cm1Cry2Aα insecticidal gene which encodes an insecticidal protein with 29 amino acid deletion in N terminal compared with CmCry2Aα. The plant expression vectors of two insecticidal genes are constructed respectively. The results of functional analysis shows that the insecticidal gene CmCry2Aα and Cm1Cry2Aα have high resistance to Helicoverpa armigera and Ostrinia nubilalis.
