Abstract

The invention provides a compound of formula I in which R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 have the meanings indicated in the description, are effective compounds with antiproliferative and / or apoptosis inducing activity. The compound according to this invention provides highly efficacious inhibitors of cellular (hyper)proliferation and / or cellcycle specific inducers of apoptosis in cancer cells and have a higher therapeutic index compared to standard chemotherapeutic drugs targeting basic cellular molecules like DNA. This invention further provides pharmaceutical composition and combination consisting essentially of a therapeutically effective and tolerable amount of one or more compounds according to this invention together with the usual pharmaceutically acceptable vehicles, diluents and / or excipients,for use in therapy, e.g. for treating, preventing or ameliorating hyperproliferative diseases, such as e.g. cancer, and / or disorders responsive to induction of apoptosis.
