Gas Pressure Regulator Especially for Internal Combustion Engine

Abstract

The invention concerns a gas pressure regulator, particularly for feeding gaseous fuel under constant pressure to an internal combustion engine, comprising a high pressure inlet orifice (54), a check valve for regulating the gas flow from the high pressure inlet orifice (54) towards a low pressure chamber (27) and a low pressure outlet orifice (16) communicating with the low pressure chamber (27). The low pressure outlet orifice (16) has a convergent / divergent shape and at least one secondary gas draw out passage (82) which is, at one end, in fluid communication with the low pressure chamber (27) and, at the other end, in fluid communication with the outlet orifice (16) at a location downstream of the minimum through flow area of the outlet orifice (16), so as to produce a Venturi effect increasing the gas flow leaving the low pressure chamber (27).
