Abstract
The present invention relates to nasal administration of an antiepileptic compound (Z)-2-(3,5,5-trirnethyl-2-cyclohexen-1ylidene) acetic acid (Z-acid) and its analog in a pharmaceutical formulation. This formulation is suitable for antiepileptic activity through nasal route of administration at the dose of 50 mg / kg. The novel dipeptide (lysine-lysine-analog of Z-acid also demonstrates potent antiepileptic activity through nasal route. The novel pharmaceutical formulation of Z-acid is prepared in a liquid form, as an inhalant, a suspension, a gel, an emulsion, or a cream. The liquid formulation of Z-acid consists of a vegetable oil such as corn oil, sesame oil, and olive oil. This liquid formulation also consists of surfactant, tween 80.
