Method for producing a hydrophobic fibre, fibre, yarn and textile fabric

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a hydrophobic fibre (1), comprising the following steps in the specified sequence: - melt spinning an intermediate product (1Z) having a circular crosssection from two different plastics, wherein a cross-section of a part of the intermediate product (1Z) formed from a first one of the plastics has a core (2) having bars (3) which point radially outwards from the latter, and wherein the first plastic has a hydrophobic surface, and wherein a second one of the plastics fills interspaces (4) between the bars (3); - cooling the intermediate product (1Z); - stretching the intermediate product (1Z); - generating a hydrophilic surface of the intermediate product (1Z); - extracting the second plastic from the intermediate product (1Z) to form the fibre (1). Super-hydrophobic textiles can be produced with this fibre (1). The invention further relates to a hydrophobic fibre (1) and to a fabric or yarn produced from this fibre (1).
