Abstract

A topical, over-the-counter, organic, all-natural antifungal ointment was developed in the laboratory which contains walnut bark extract, with excellent moisturizing and water-repellency properties and permeates well into the epidermis. Antifungal resistance is a developing issue to public health that has been mainly driven by the increased usage of antifungal orally in clinical settings. Understanding the mechanisms and risk factors for antifungal resistance is crucial to maintain their therapeutic relevance as there are currently few therapy alternatives available. It is critical to have a greater knowledge of the development of resistance and the lack of viable treatment options because mortality rates from invasive fungal infections are frequently higher, particularly in the context of antifungal resistance. Due to frequent empiric use in critically ill patients, regular prophylactic use, and widespread use of antifungal medications, antifungal resistance is a problem that is expected to develop significantly worse. Herbal extracts have been used for many years to treat a variety of human ailments. More than 70-80% people worldwide rely on traditional medicine for their main healthcare needs, according to a World Health Organization (WHO) investigation. Juglan regia Linn, also known as Akhrot in Pakistan, is a tree of the Juglandaceae family with a strong, durable bark that is fragrant and resinous. The tree has a long history of use in medicine for the treatment of several illnesses. It is frequently used in Pharmaceutical to help in treating oral dental issues, laxative and diuretic problems, used in blood purification, as an astringent, anthelmintic, antiinflammatory and cleansing agents, in fungal and bacterial infections as well as in urinary tract infections (UTIs). This invention relates to a skin-care product that contains an herbal antifungal composition of extract of walnut bark.
