Abstract

A process for dyeing wool and polyamide 6.6 in burly wood and wheat hues, respectively by warming the fabric at 90°C in an aqueous solution a powder of the Cleome icosandra fruit wherein fabric to dyeing solution ratio is 1:10 and weight of the powder for one gram fabric is 0.25g (25%). Dyed fabrics were evaluated to determine the fixation of the powder of Cleome icosandra fruit on textile fabrics and various color parameters. Fastness properties such as fastness to wash, fastness to light, fastness to dry crocking and fastness to wet crocking were also determined using standard procedures.
