Process for the preparation of rat bait

Abstract

This invention related to the development / formulation of a process for the preparation of "Rat Bait". Tne palatable baits have been prepared from Broken Rice, wheat flour, whole eggs as Echancer (additive) and Rodenticides, zinc phosphide 2% was used for the preparation of acute Rodenticidal bait, while Brodifacoum 0.005% was used for the preparation of chronic (Anticoagulant Bait). To prepare the each rat bait, wheat flour and broken rice were used as bait base in both combinations. The additive (egg) was added in 3% (w / w). The rodenticides namely zinc phoshide and Brodifacoum which are single dose acute and anticoagulant rodenticides respectively were used as a Rodenticides. Bait constituent were mixed using electric mixer adding water until stiff dough was formed. Small pellets were prepared using an electric pellet machine with a sieve diameter of 11 mm. Bait were fan dried and stored in plastic bags.
