Abstract
The subject of the application is a method for dosimetric analysis of ionizing radiation using fullerenol C70(OH)12 nanoparticles, which can be used to perform dosimetric measurements in industry and science and to determine high radiation doses. The method involves appropriate selection of concentrations and preparation of aqueous solutions of C70(OH)12 nanoparticles, irradiation of the C70(OH)12 nanoparticle solutions with ionizing radiation, measurement, and validation of fluorescence intensity at established C70(OH)12 nanoparticle parameters depending on the radiation dose level. To prepare the aqueous solution, weighed amounts of C70(OH)12 are dissolved in solid form in a measured volume of distilled water to obtain a stock solution with a concentration of 0.500 mmol / dm3. The stock solution is diluted with distilled water to obtain a working solution with a concentration of 300 µmol / dm3.To remove the hydroxyl radical resulting from water radiolysis, t-butanol (2-methylpropan-2-ol) is used at a final concentration of 0.1 mol / dm3, and to eliminate the products of water radiolysis with oxygen, C70(OH)12 solutions are saturated with nitrogen for 10 min immediately before irradiation. Irradiation of the aqueous C70(OH)12 solution is carried out in a quartz cuvette with a volume of 3 mL and an optical path of 1 cm.
