Abstract

The application concerns new iodonium salts of general formula (1), wherein E -denotes a hexafluorophosphate or tosyl anion, and X denotes a substituent of the general formula (2A) bonded to the iodine atom via a carbon atom in position 5, corresponding to the position of the R4 substituent, or via a carbon atom in position 6 or via a carbon atom corresponding to the position of the R substituent, in which formula (2A) the substituents R1 - R4, provided that the carbon atom in position 5 corresponding to the R4 substituent does not form a bond with the iodine atom, independently of each other denote a hydrogen atom or a methoxy group, and the R substituent denotes a trimethylsilyl group or a bond with the iodine atom, and when the substituent of the general formula (2A) is bonded to the iodine atom via a carbon atom corresponding to the R substituent position, the R1, R2 and R4 substituents denote a hydrogen atom, and the R3 substituent denotes a methoxy group, which new iodonium salts are selected from the group consisting of: tosylate [2,4-dimethoxy-4'-(trimethylsilyl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-5-yl]phenyliodonium, [2-methoxy-4'-(trimethylsilyl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-5-yl]phenyl tosylate[4'-methoxy[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl]phenyliodonium tosylate, [3,5-dimethoxy-4'-(trimethylsilyl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-2-yl]phenyliodonium tosylate, [5-methoxy-4'-(trimethylsilyl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-3-yl]phenyliodonium tosylate, [2,4-dimethoxy-4'-(trimethylsilyl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-5-yl]phenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate, [2-methoxy-4'-(trimethylsilyl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-5-yl]phenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate, [4'-methoxy[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl]phenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate, [3,5-dimethoxy-4'-(trimethylsilyl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-2-yl]phenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate, [5-methoxy-4'-(trimethylsilyl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-3-yl]phenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate.
