Description

[0001] The invention relates to a door hinge with a first fastening body and a second fastening body which are articulated to each other and are opposite each other in a closed position, wherein an adjusting device with at least one actuating element is received by the first fastening body.

[0002] Adjustable door hinges are known in various designs. The invention relates to door hinges that are concealed between the door frame and the door leaf, for which purpose the fastening elements are inserted into corresponding recesses in a narrow side of the door leaf and a jamb side of the door frame. Such door hinges are marketed by Simonswerk GmbH under the brand name TECTUS®. These products are described in the "Handbook 2018 / 2019," Simonswerk GmbH, page 45 ff.

[0003] Reference is also made to DE 10 2015 112 640 B3, which shows a corresponding door hinge.

[0004] Concealed hinges are equipped with adjustment mechanisms that allow the door leaf to be adjusted in three mutually perpendicular directions relative to its closed position. This adjustment is achieved through the relative movement of lockable components of the hinge. With respect to the standard hinge mounting on a door frame, a distinction is made between vertical adjustment, pressure adjustment along the thickness of the door leaf, and lateral adjustment, which occurs horizontally along the width of the door leaf.

[0005] The described door hinges are available for various weight classes and are characterized by good stability and durability. Beyond the usual everyday stresses a door hinge endures, improved protection against deliberate manipulation, such as attempted break-ins, is often desired. The stresses exerted during prying, for example, differ significantly from normal use and can potentially overload even an otherwise durable door hinge.

[0006] To achieve improved resistance on the hinge side of a door, separate door locks or locking bolts are known, as described, for example, in the "Handbook 2018 / 2019" of Simonswerk GmbH on pages 195 to 198 and on page 464.

[0007] From DE 298 06 594 U1 a door hinge in the form of a simple hinge with a locking pin is known, wherein the locking pin is arranged on a hinge part and engages in a bore of an opposite hinge part when in a closed position.

[0008] A door hinge with an integrated locking mechanism is also known from DE 20 2006 001 574 U1. The door hinge is equipped with an adjustment function and has guide elements firmly screwed to a door leaf, which additionally function as locking pins and interact with corresponding openings in a closed position. An actuating element for adjusting the door hinge is concealed.

[0009] Although the invention is particularly suitable for concealed door hinges, it is not limited to this type of hinge. In principle, other door hinge designs can also be provided for within the scope of the invention.

[0010] The present invention aims to provide a generic door hinge with improved functionality and a still compact design. Furthermore, the invention aims to provide a door comprising a door frame, a door leaf, and at least one corresponding door hinge.

[0011] The subject matter of the invention and the solution to the problem are a door hinge according to claim 1 and a door according to claim 9.

[0012] Based on the preamble of claim 1, it is therefore provided that the actuating element extends out of the first fastening body and engages in a receiving recess of the second band body in the closed position.

[0013] According to the invention, the actuating element is assigned an additional functionality in a particularly advantageous way, wherein the actuating element is provided not only for actuating the adjustment device, but also for additional securing of the door hinge in the manner of a door lock.

[0014] This dual functionality contributes to a particularly compact design. The space already provided for the actuating element on the first mounting body can be used for additional securing purposes; for this, only a receiving recess needs to be provided in the corresponding location in the second mounting body.

[0015] While conventional door locks require separate mounting of the pins and corresponding receptacles, and there is generally a risk of misalignment, the invention significantly simplifies the mounting process and eliminates the risk of misalignment.

[0016] The additional safety functionality integrated into the door hinge can easily be implemented by means of a suitably adapted operating element and the receiving recess.

[0017] The invention also takes into account that such a protective function is only desired in practice for certain applications. It is then particularly easy to provide the door hinge with or without the features according to the invention for selection purposes, for which only different actuating elements need to be provided.

[0018] Even if no safety function is desired and, outside the scope of the invention, the actuating element does not extend from the first fastening body, a receiving recess on the second fastening body can still be present, even if it is not used. If a corresponding safety function is not desired, cover plates can also be provided on the fastening bodies, as are known, for example, from DE 10 2020 108 107 B3.

[0019] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the actuating element has a tool holder and / or is rotatably mounted. The actuating element can, for example, be an adjusting screw, an adjusting spindle, or an adjusting eccentric.

[0020] Within the scope of the invention, the receiving recess can be designed without restriction as a recess with a bottom or as a through-opening for the second fastening body.

[0021] To achieve a good locking effect, a suitable engagement depth of the actuating element in the receiving recess must also be determined, taking into account various factors such as the size of the hinge, the width of any gap remaining between the fixing bodies in the closed position, the stability of the hinge, and the like.

[0022] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the engagement depth is between 4 mm and 20 mm. If the engagement depth is too shallow, there is a risk that the desired locking function will not be achieved in the event of a significant force being applied or deformation of the door leaf and / or door frame. Conversely, if the engagement depth is too deep, the kinematics of the hinge may be impaired. It is important to note that the actuating element must pivot into the corresponding receiving recess when transitioning to the closed position.

[0023] Furthermore, it should be noted that in the closed position, it is usually desirable for the actuating element not to strike a side wall of the receiving recess. On the other hand, when a corresponding force is applied, a positive-locking support should exist between the actuating element and the receiving recess, whereby the resulting deformations should ideally not lead to permanent damage to the door hinge.

[0024] Against this background, a preferred embodiment of the invention provides that, in the closed position, the actuating element is arranged with a minimum lateral distance of between 0.1 mm and 5 mm to the side wall of the receiving recess. The minimum lateral distance is typically provided in the direction in which the door leaf opens.

[0025] Furthermore, the actuating element is preferably also arranged off-center in the receiving recess, whereby a larger lateral distance is provided in one stop direction opposite the opening direction in order to enable, in particular, the actuating element to pivot in and out of the associated receiving recess.

[0026] Within the scope of the invention, the door hinge has at least one actuating element which, in the closed position, engages in the associated receiving recess of the second fastening body.

[0027] Preferably, however, two or more actuating elements are provided on the first fastening body, with hinges of this type often having a symmetrical or approximately symmetrical design with respect to a horizontal center plane. This also offers the advantage that even better safety and force distribution are achieved by using two actuating elements spaced apart from each other.

[0028] Within the scope of the invention, the further design of the door hinge is not limited. In principle, for example, the two fastening elements can be designed in the manner of hinge flaps and rotatably connected to each other on a hinge roller.

[0029] However, according to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the fastening elements for the concealed arrangement are provided in the narrow side of a door leaf and a jamb side of a door frame.

[0030] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the fastening elements are connected to a joint arrangement comprising at least two pivot brackets movable relative to each other. With regard to the further design of the door hinges, particular reference is made to the embodiments described above, which are known from practice.

[0031] Finally, the invention also relates to a door comprising a door frame, a door leaf and at least one hinge designed as described above.

[0032] Naturally, door leaves are usually connected to at least two hinges, although optionally only one of the hinges may be designed according to the invention. It is particularly advantageous, of course, if at least two hinges have the design according to the invention. The door leaf is pivotally movable and adjustable in the door frame by means of the adjustment device, with the actuating element, together with the receiving recess, forming a hinge-side door lock in the closed position.

[0033] The invention thus provides an additional safety function in a particularly simple way without any additional assembly effort.

[0034] The invention will be explained below using exemplary figures.

[0035] They show: Fig. 1 a door hinge according to the invention in an open position, Fig. 2 a longitudinal section through a first fastening body of the door hinge, Fig. 3 a horizontal section through a door with a door frame, a door leaf and at least one corresponding door hinge.

[0036] The Fig. 1 Figure 1 shows a door hinge according to the invention, comprising a first fastening body 1 and a second fastening body 2, which are articulated together. The fastening bodies 1 and 2 are each designed in multiple parts and allow adjustment in order to position a door leaf 4, which is attached to a door frame 3 by the door hinge, in a known manner.

[0037] An adjustment device with an actuating element 5 is received by the first fastening body 1. Furthermore, additional adjustment mechanisms are provided in the illustrated door hinge, which, however, are of minor importance with regard to the present invention.

[0038] Already in Fig. 1 It can be seen that the actuating element 5 extends out of the first fastening body 1. A receiving recess 6 in the form of an opening is arranged on the second fastening body at the level of the fastening element 5.

[0039] The Fig. 1 The figure shows the door hinge in an open position, whereby when transitioning to a closed position the end faces of the two fastening bodies 1, 2 are moved towards each other until the two fastening bodies 1, 2 are opposite each other with their end faces in the closed position.

[0040] Considering the described kinematics, it becomes clear that the fastening element 5, which projects from the first fastening body 1, engages in the receiving recess 6 of the second fastening body 2 in the closed position, thereby achieving additional hinge-side security. As further described in detail, the actuating element 5 and the associated receiving recess 6 enable securing, for example, against the door leaf 4 being pried open.

[0041] From the Fig. 1 It can be seen that the door hinge has a compact design overall. According to the invention, the actuating element 5 has a dual function. On the one hand, the actuating element 5 allows for height adjustment, and on the other hand, an improved safety function is achieved without requiring any additional space compared to a conventional door hinge design.

[0042] In the Fig. 1 It can also be seen that the door hinge is symmetrically designed with respect to a horizontal center plane and has two of the described actuating elements 5, each with an associated receiving recess 6 in the second fastening body 2.

[0043] The Fig. 2 Figure 1 shows a longitudinal section through the first fastening body 1 in the area of the actuating element 5. It can be seen that the actuating element 5 in the illustrated embodiment is an adjusting screw which acts on an associated wedge surface for height adjustment. By screwing the two actuating elements 5 provided on the first fastening body 1 in and out in a coordinated manner, the desired height of the door leaf 4 relative to the door frame 3 can be set and fixed within a predetermined range.

[0044] The insertion and removal of the actuating elements 5 also changes the engagement depth of the fastening elements 5 in the associated receiving recess 6 to a certain extent. However, the projection of the fastening elements 5 relative to the first fastening body 1 is selected such that the length variation during height adjustment is negligible. In the closed position, the engagement depth of the actuating elements 5 in their respective receiving recesses 6 is typically between 4 mm and 20 mm.

[0045] The actuating element 5 shown in the illustrated embodiment is merely an example, designed as an adjusting screw. Alternatively, depending on the type of adjustment device, a design such as an adjusting spindle or adjusting eccentric is also possible.

[0046] The Fig. 3 shows a horizontal section through a door with a door frame 3, a door leaf 4 and at least one hinge in the area of the hinge, with which the door leaf 4 is pivotally and adjustable attached to the door frame 3.

[0047] As previously described, the fastening elements 5 engage in the corresponding receiving recess 6. It should be noted that the actuating elements 5 are arranged off-center in the receiving recess 6.

[0048] The in Fig. 3 The depicted horizontal plane is characterized by the coordinates X and Y for the thickness direction of the closed door leaf 4 and the direction of one width of the closed door leaf 4, respectively. It can be seen that the actuating elements 5 are each arranged off-center in order to minimize the distance to adjacent side walls of the receiving recess 6 and to facilitate pouring and dispensing.

[0049] From the Fig. 3 It can be seen that the fastening bodies 1, 2 are concealed in the narrow side of the door leaf 4 and a jamb side of the door frame 3.

[0050] Especially from the Fig. 1 It is evident that the fastening bodies 1, 2 are connected to a joint arrangement 9 having at least two joint brackets 8a, 8b movable relative to each other.
